The Maritime House opens soon!

The Maritime House is accessable to the public as of the 4th of June. The special summer exhibits will be finished by the 14th of June.

The exhibit "Phantoms in the sea" will be located in the second floor of the building. A part of the "Beyond Siberia" exhibit will be at the entrance lobby and another part will be in the historic room of the building. Some objects will be on exhibit as of the 4th of June. Our interesting basic exhibit will be accessable as usual.

One of the objects on display at the exhibit was rediscovered as early as last the winter. The object in question is a Haida Panel Pipe and was found in an attic in Pargas. The original collector remains unknow, possibly a member of the crew onboard the Turku ships Fröja or Atka that sailed for Alaska in 1848?
